Choosing the right bed

Choosing the right bed

I don't know about you... But I have had my share of beds. I get bored so quickly & want a new one. Recently though we obviously built our house & I wanted one that would fit in perfectly. I also needed a King size bed for Hugo to fit in with his boots & bar...

I decided to take a look at

Heres my Buying a bed advice for you :

There is so much to consider when trying to choose the right bed. Whether you’re moving into a new house and buying all new furniture or you’re simply buying a replacement because the old one is worn out.
So you need to ask yourself a few questions.
  • Do you have a budget in mind?
  • Do you want a frame or just a bed?
  • Are you looking for a mattress too?
I’m sure you have considered all of this already but just in case you haven’t, now is a great time to start!
There are many different styles of bed available to us that will provide us with different levels of comfort, size and some added practicality with hidden features such as extra storage space if that’s on our long list of criteria. One of the most sought after, popular styles are Divan. This comprises of a mattress over a divan base which have proven to be one of the most comfortable on the market. Furniture123 have a great range of divan beds at some of the lowest prices in the country and with free delivery so it wouldn’t hurt heading over there for a quick look!

Futons are also a popular style with a more minimalistic feel to them. These come in a few variations such as single and double futon sofas that easily turn into a bed (nifty eh?). These are a great option for guest bedrooms as they are very low to the ground and can be folded up when nobody is using them, giving you more space. These types of bed come in pretty much every colour under the sun so you’re certainly not limited where colour and design is involved. Depending on how much money you’re willing to spend, you can get an absolute bargain on these beds or you can really splash out on one for over £600. Similarly, Chaise Longue sofa beds also convert from sofas into beds and are a brilliant addition to a guest room.

If you are buying a bed for someone who is elderly or if they have mobility issues, a great option for them is an adjustable bed. These allow you to get a good night’s rest in a comfortable position which you are able to customise with a remote control, moving different parts of your bed until you are completely satisfied. Due to the electronic aspect of the bed, these come at a slightly higher price but would be totally worth it in terms of your health.

Next we have Ottoman and storage beds. If you don’t have much space in your bedroom and you’re constantly trying to think of new, efficient ways to store certain items, an ottoman bed would be the perfect investment. With an Ottoman bed, you are able to lift up the mattress to reveal a storage compartment, perfect for things like clothes and towels that you are able to lay flat. These come in sizes from single to king-size so obviously the bigger the bed, the more storage space comes with it.
If you fancy a little luxury or you just want to feel like a princess for a night, four poster beds are perfect for creating that romantic, ethereal feel in your bedroom. If you have plenty of space, these can look beautiful and really add personality to a room.
Similarly, sleigh beds have a very majestic feel and if you don’t mind splashing out, are a great option for a large bedroom.
