Changing of the Clocks. Confusing times...

Well what clever person thought changing the clocks on Mother's day morning was a good idea? They obviously don't have children.... Ha
I know its only been a day or so but this clock change has been the hardest to handle yet!... It's absolutely amazing to have it lighter in the evenings don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about that... much.
We are now having the "But its morning outside mummy the sun is still out. I can't go to sleep whilst the sun is still out...."
Oh my gosh I'm tired GO TO SLEEP...
Then after all the questions & bare in mind its now almost 8pm & I keep hearing Emilyn talking... the odd "Love you mummy" Yes very sweet now go to sleep!
The mornings... Oh my goodness. I can't WAKE UP. I just can't. The children however. Yep they are awake. Well they are awake most of the night especially Hugo. He has been super super grumpy we had 3 hours of non stop tantrum this morning. He's just totally not himself.
I saw this watch whilst browsing in town it's happy face would keep me happy...
I'm sure we will be used to the time change soon. It's just bizarre to have it so light outside.
The summer is almost upon us. Exciting times.

Will he ALWAYS have Clubfeet/Talipes? Will he ALWAYS be a Happy Feeter?

Happy Feet Talipes

A question that I have asked myself before.
A question that Hugo isn't old enough to ask yet.
So what is it?
Will he always be a Happy Feet boy?
Will he always have clubfoot?
Yes it's corrected but will it ever relapse?
Will he ever be able to just forget about his feet?
Will they hurt when he's older?
All these questions...
So will he always be a happy feeter?

Happy Feet Talipes

Happy Mother's Day

It's that time of year again - it's our day. To celebrate us Mother's.
This year Emilyn is more 'with it' she's 4 & a half, totally in the whole mothers day spirit,
I've been told to stay in bed & await my breakfast.

I've been given some beautiful flowers & the best home made cards.

Yesterday we made the cutest cupcakes for today too.

So currently I'm sat in bed with my two little ones singing 'the wheels on the buss goes round & round...'
But hey these are the best memories we are creating around us.

Have a fabulous mothers day to you all.
We're off to for a coffee & then an ice cream & some sweets it's sweetie Sunday after all.

How to Vinyl your Bugaboo chassis for less than £5!

How to Vinyl your Bugaboo chassis for less than £5!
I want to show you how you can bring back the life of an old buggy.

This was a sorry for itself looking Bugaboo Gecko.
Crying out for the attention it needed. Here is where the Vinyl matt black comes in.

What you will need :

-Bugaboo Chassis
- Matt Black Vinyl 1Metre x 610mm - we got ours from eBay- HERE
- Clean cloth & hot soapy water
- Tailers Tape Measure
-Ruler
- Pen
- Sharp blade / Stanley knife
- Someone to help an extra hand would be useful ?

STEP 1 - Cleaning the Chassis

Cleaning the Chassis
First of all - Recommend CLEAN the chassis. The Vinyl won't stick to a muddy grimy chassis.
Clean the chassis from top to bottom, You could give your wheels a good clean too.

Dry off the chassis make sure everywhere is dry.

STEP 2 - Measuring

Measuring the parts
Measure around your chassis and then its length. Take the measurements, use your ruler to draw out the area then cut it to size.

STEP 3 - Applying the Vinyl

Stanley knife is so needed!
Peel back the white protective film & apply to the chassis. On the large areas you can keep the protective film on whilst you apply the first bit. This will keep it clean & dust free.

First part of the chassis finished. Vinyling a bugaboo chassis.

STEP 4 - Rubbing the Vinyl on

Make sure you rub the vinyl on but by bit, work from the centre to the edges.
If you get bubbles unreel & start again.
Or rub & rub & RUB until its gone.
Last resort pierce it with the Stanley knife.

Chassis side... Vinyl the side

STEP 5 - Keep seems underneath HIDE THEM

keep the seems hidden.
Make sure that all seems are finished where people with their prying eyes can't see them.

STEP 6 - You're ALMOST FINISHED - put the Kettle on

Go round the rivets - Those god awful rivets... Best option would be to use your own finger / thumb nail then smooth round with a cloth. Remove the brake *It does come off!* So much easier to vinyl & then put it back on...

STEP 7 - YOU'RE FINISHED ADMIRE...
How different does it look!
This took us around 4 hours.
Bare in mind we had 3 toddlers running riot around us.
Recommend doing it in peace!

TOP TIPS

- Have someone to help you
- If you go wrong don't panic & start over
- Keep the Kettle going on & on & on.
- Take your time, there's no rush

Eye examination for Emilyn the mini beast 27/03/14

Today was Emilyn's quarterly eye check up, after we stupidly I really should say *I stupidly... completely missed her eye check up that was meant to be in January, I blame the lacking of 2014 Diary.
Anyways we managed to remember today's appointment.
Emilyn is a bit of a pro at the whole eye test thing now.
She's doing really well.
Her eyes are the same no better no worse...

We are now on 6 monthly check ups.
we will however still be needing to go to Bogner Regis for her other eye tests that will be coming up again soon.
Emilyn decided to dress for the occasion - Yes thats a Mini Beast costume. And why the heck not.
Very Glastonbury.
Hunter wellies & Tutu with the big costume.

A real talking point.

Bloggers wanted : Does your Child wear glasses?

Granted this is a bit of a strange request from me.
I have with the help from Emilyn written a children's book. specifically for little boys & girls who wear glasses.
So as the title suggests I'm asking if your child or if you have a friend who's child wears glasses but you are happy to pop a post on your blog to tell the world that this book exists.

I'll give you brief description  :
Wear your glasses Tess, A short children's story to help the transition for little ones who must wear their glasses,
Tess refuses to wear her glasses. Well until she realises just what she's missing out on.
We all want to see how beautiful the world is don't we? She soon learns that wearing her glasses is the best thing ever.
How did she go so long without them!
